This work focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes leading up to childbirth. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue. Touch is vital to the mother's physical and emotional well-being as she adapts to her new body image, and it nurtures the new life that grows within her.

Pregnant women may lie on their sides or on their bellies. We have a specifically designed pillow which makes it possible to be face down in comfort. For the side-lying position, body pillows are especially effective.

In addition to great bodywork, there is always at least one bath at the Waves which can be adjusted to body temperature (97-99 degrees F.) when requested at the time of reservation. Gravity disappears in warm water.
